Trevor Whitwell (FS 66-72) and his brother Paul (FS 71-77) recently visited the school and submitted the following:
“Paul and I had not been in St Bees together since 1972, and Paul has never been back since he left in 1977. Our visit was arranged by Pam Rumney, and we were given lunch in the Foundation dining room, accompanied by David Lord and Tony Reeve, after which Tony gave us a tour of the 'new' Foundation facilities and the rest of the school. It was lovely to see the school in use again, albeit in a different manner from that which we experienced, but there is no doubting the staff’s commitment to their pupils; seeing the interaction they have and everyone's enthusiasm for the future. St Bees School has 'risen' again and is in good hands.”
